The technology makes the usage of things easier.

How should I do it?

There are 5 steps for home surveillance with network cameras.

  1. Purchase network cameras, for example from Axis, Panasonic, DLink. It costed from $150 to $180 for basic network camera like Axis 206, and about $400 for 1.3 mega pixel network camera (Axis 206M). Cameras with PTZ for example some Panasonic models costed around $450.
  2. Purchase video surveillance software from the Internet. See our surveillance software TOP10. It costs from $30 for basic software till $80-150-250 for full featured software.
  3. Install cameras: 15-25 minutes for each camera
  4. In case if you decide to use wireless surveillance cameras add WIFI board to your PC and don’t care about cable installation! :)
  5. Install network cable – $10-$20 (in case of ordinary network cameras). In case you have more than one camera purchase network hub or switch ($20).
  6. Install video surveillance / management software on your PC
